Dr. Michael J. Martin : Ph.D, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), BCPCC (Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor), NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor)

Dr. Michael J. Martin

Ph.D, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), BCPCC (Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor), NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor)

I was licensed by the state of Georgia as a Professional Counselor (LPC).  In addition, I am certified by the National Board for Certified  Counselors, a private national counselor certifying agency, and also certified  as a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor.  I hold a MS in Community Counseling from Columbus College, and a Doctorate in Christian Psychology from Locos college and Graduate School, and another in Philosophy from Locos University.
The foundation of my approach is an Evangelical Christian World View integrated with the best  psychological research in which I use a variety of strategies that assist people in making sense of their world.  These strategies are mostly cognitive-behavioral in that they are based on the notion how people see themselves, and how world influences actually facilitates how they feel and behave.  I am not an employee, but an Independent Contractor that rents a office for Columbus Christian Counseling Center.  Moreover, I abide by ethical guidelines of the National Board for Certified Counselors.

willing to engage (and be curious) about the biological, psychological, spiritual, and relational
parts of their life.
